Over the last year working with Notts County Councillors and Mansfield District Council we have successfully delivered two Winter Wellbeing events. We decided after the success of the winter warmer to enhance the event by providing health & wellbeing advice and some light entertainment for the elderly who were attending.

The main aim of these events is to ensure the most vulnerable in our communities are aware of what services are on offer and more importantly how to access them, Cllr Alan Bell & Cllr Joyce Bosnjak (NCC Councillors), Jane Park (County Enterprise Foods), Jess Knight(NCC community officer) and ourselves were tasked with putting together the new format.

Forest Town in Mansfield would be the first area to receive their new look event.

As this was our first event in Forest town we provided 250 winter parcels, The Trust funded the parcels for the event and MDC funded extra parcels to be delivered to local residents who they felt were the most vulnerable with the area. We had stalls and speakers from the MDC Assist, Fire Service, Everyone Health and County Enterprise Foods (CEF).  After the formalities were over our guests were served a two course meal funded by NCC Alan Bell (provided by CEF) and entertained by our singer Ernie.

In January, funded by The Trust 80 of the elderly local residents were invited to join us for our second Wellbing event at Turner Hall in Mansfield Woodhouse.

We had stalls and speakers from Clinical Commissioning Group, MDC Assist, Fire Service, CEF & Healing Pathways. Pinders Opticians, Oakwood Pharmacy. Everyone Health provided an interactive session quizzing attendees of food groups and sugars.

Everyone was provided again with a two course hot meal (from CEF) and entertainment from Ernie, who was fast becoming our resident singer and to finish off the day we had a free raffle.
