On January 12th The Trust along with Notts County & Mansfield District Councils organised this years winter warmer event.

We produced 350 winter parcels filled with some winter woolies and a few essential food items for the over 65’s of Mansfield Woodhouse. 135 parcels have been distributed to the most vulnerable sheltered housing residents. 65 parcels were given to the local church food bank for distribution and 150 for the attendees at our winter warmer event at Turner Hall.

Along with the winter parcels, NCC Councillor Bosnjak provided 150 hot meals (supplied by enterprise foods).

Elderly people are the most vulnerable in our communities and we need to ensure that they are taken care of, in addition to hot meal and a parcel residents were also given talks from Trading Standards, MDC Assist programme, Fire Brigade and Enterprise foods.

So impressed with the initiative East Midlands Today sent a crew down and featured the event on the evening news. We are tremendously proud to have pioneered this event within Nottinghamshire and hope that it will continue to grow.
